The European CoRoT program is under the responsability of the National Space Studies Center (CNES), which is the project manager.
France finances about 75 percent of the program in the form of industry contracts and providing the means, research, and engineering staff for the CNES or the laboratories. Foreign partners take care of the supplemental needs.
The scientific program is developed by the scientists of the countries involved, under the responsability of a scientific comittee chaired by a "scientific leader", who is French.
The instrument is developed by a joint team comprising members of the CNRS (National Science Research Center) and MEN (National Ministry of Education).
More than 150 people work on this project.
