The dioptric objective is made up of 6 lenses. It forms an image of the sky in the focal plane, on the detectors.

  • Its focal plane is 1200mm.
  • It is open at f/4.

The number of lenses, the glass indexes, and the curve rays of each lens, have been chosen to obtain uniformity in the images of the stars in the field of view.

The camera is made up of the dioptric objective and the focal block. It has been built by the IAS (Space Astrophysics Institute).

The dioptric objective is realized by the SODERN company. Associated with the focal block, it makes the camera.
