The CoRoT telescope collects and concentrates photons.
- The afocal collector is made up of 2 mirrors (out of axis) which reduce the size of a beam of light with a factor of 9.
It also ensures the uniformity of the image in the field of view.
- It is then corrected by a dioptric objective of 1200 mm, with a focal distance opened at f/4. It ensures a wide observation field (2,7° x 3,05°) and an excellent protection from the parasitic light interior to the telescope.
